It is with profound and heartfelt sorrow that we share the news of the passing of JoAnne Helene Dodd on July 21, 2023, at the age of 71, at the Hospice Simcoe in Barrie after bravely facing cancer. JoAnne, the cherished wife of Ronald Dodd for 49 years and loving mother to Craig, Nathan, and the late Stephen. She will be deeply missed by her daughter-in-law Gayla and granddaughter Bella, daughter-in-law Krystal and granddaughter Elli and devoted sister Linda Thurlow (Bev). She will be forever remembered affectionately by all family members and special friends. So many have been blessed to have experienced JoAnne's loving embrace and affection.

Born on July 5, 1952, in Tillsonburg to Joseph and Virginia Danko. JoAnne's life's journey led her to New Lowell where she spent her childhood attending school and forming lasting friendships, to making a loving family home in Wasaga Beach.

With a remarkable dedication to others, JoAnne graduated from the McEachern Training Centre, dedicating 42 years of her life to the healthcare profession where she not only cared for patients but embraced them as family. Her unwavering commitment to her job was a testament to her compassionate nature, as she tirelessly ensured that patient care and comfort were paramount. With an unyielding dedication to her responsibilities, she provided heartfelt and considerate care to all entrusted to her. Her remarkable diligence and devotion garnered immense respect from her colleagues, especially those she collaborated with daily. To JoAnne, each day at work presented a new opportunity for growth and learning as she approached every interaction with the mindset of expanding her knowledge. Her extraordinary memory was a marvel, as she never forgot crucial details or people. Taking the time to mentor and guide newcomers, JoAnne meticulously ensured that proper procedures were followed leaving no room for error. She exercised patience and inquisitiveness when faced with uncertainty, making her a true embodiment of a compendium – a living repository of wisdom, knowledge, and experiences.

During her time at the Simcoe Hospice, JoAnne's grace and fortitude shone through as she faced her illness with dignity and found solace in the care she received. To honour her memory, we invite those who wish to pay tribute to consider donating to the Hospice Simcoe, an organization that provided the utmost excellence in comfort, compassion, and support during her final days. https://hospicesimcoe.ca
