With tremendous grief, we announce that Roland Armand DelGuidice (born on Jan. 20, 1940) of Wasaga Beach passed away while in palliative care at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the age of 83.
Roly is survived by his wife Beverly to whom he was married for over 58 years, his son Jason DelGuidice and daughter-in-law Janice, his daughter Zoe Liddicoat and son-in-law William, his four grandchildren Jaxon (19), Jorja (17), Cameron (16), and Vanessa (13), his siblings Romeo DelGuidice and Collette Endress, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
During Roly’s career, he was a teacher, a French consultant, a principal, and a superintendent for the Simcoe County Roman Catholic Separate Board. He was a devoted employee, co-worker, and educator who was fortunate to be an influence in the lives of so many during his 27-year career.
Everybody loved Roly! He was always willing to help others and displayed tremendous compassion and empathy for those around him. He was a true handyman around the house, a loving husband, father, and “Papere”, a true friend, and avid golfer. He loved his furry friends, with Molly being his most recent cherished pet. He was capable of doing anything that he put his mind to and in the opinion of his family, there was nobody better. We will never forget the person that he was and he will be greatly missed.
Donations in Roly’s honour can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, or Lupus Canada.
Visitations will be held on Sunday September 3rd at Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home in Wasaga Beach from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and his funeral will be at St. Noel Chabanel Catholic Church in Wasaga Beach on Monday September 4th at 11:30 a.m. Reception details to follow.
