Currie, Norman Alexander “Alec / Pa”
Peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Campbell House Hospice at the age of 87.
Alec, of Collingwood, was the beloved husband of Karen (nee Blain) for 44 years.
Loving father of Kim Patterson, Kerry Kilbride, April Hanna (John) and Robert Kilbride. Cherished Grampa and “Pa” of Hayley Laferink (Matthew), Graeme Patterson, Kara Mayer (Dave), the late Rachel Smith, MacKenzie Kilbride (Alexa), Kian Kilbride, Charlotte Kilbride, Cormac Kilbride, Jamie Hanna (Erin), William Hanna and 8 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his sister Victoria Loughead and brothers Allan Currie and Ronnie Currie. Lovingly remembered by his extended family and many friends.
Alec worked in the Collingwood Shipyards for 27 years until it closed. Later in life he was a truck driver for Arnotts, Forbes and Hanna Ford. He loved his family, his new Ford Maverick, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. His time in AA was also very dear to him, spending over 58 years being able to help others.
Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join Alec’s family at the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood on Saturday, February 10, 2024 for visitation from 11 a.m. until the memorial service in the chapel at 1 p.m. A reception will follow.
