It is with heavy hearts the Culos family announce Larry’s sudden passing at Coleman Care Centre, Barrie, Ontario on Friday, September 1, 2023 in his 90th year.
Larry Culos, of Wasaga Beach, Ontario was the beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Rowell) for 66 years. Loving father of Lauri Jones, Deborah Culos, Theresa Beaumont (Jim), Robert Culos (Cheryl Blanchard) and Christopher Culos (Susan). Cherished grandfather of Amanda, Brenna, Michelle, Melissa, Ashley, Rachel, Christopher, Colt, Charlie, Kimberly, Elizabeth, Andrew and Danielle, and great-grandfather of Zaccry, Mara, Cyphr, Davin, Daejah, Antonio, Hunter, Darby and Mallory. Dear brother of the late Fritz Culos (Ann), the late Theresa Gomm, Cathy Patrucco (late Gary), Michael Culos, Marguerite Stickland (late Barrie), Paul Culos; brother-in-law of Bill Gomm, Janice Dickins, Edleen Culos, and the late Arlene Shadbolt (Shad). Lovingly remembered by his nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
Larry was a Machinist with the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1952 to 1978, rising to the rank of Sergeant prior to his retirement. Larry also served during the Korea War in 1953-1954. Larry enjoyed curling, private small engine pilot, Ground School Instructor, and coaching hockey and baseball. RVing in Baja MX, USA and Canada, was a major part of Marilyn and Larry's retirement years."
Per Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Noel Chabanel Catholic Church, 133 Dunkerron Avenue, Wasaga Beach, Ontario on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:30AM EST, and a Reception will follow at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would be appreciated by the family.
