Died tragically on Friday December 17, 2021 in Meaford at the age of 64. Elizabeth of Meaford, devoted partner of Dan McFerran for over 20 years. Loving mother of Naomi Michelle Cubitt (Creag Roache) and Jebedina Rachele Cubitt and stepmother of Natalie nee Cubitt (Stefan Kopacz) and Jennifer Measures. Cherished grandmother of Cheyenne, Elijah, Asondai, Koral, Gunnar, Devon, Samantha and William. Dear sister of Marge (the late Charlie Hart), Jack Smith, Doug Smith (Dianna), Lorne Smith, Gary Smith (Susan), Fred Smith and the late Valeria (Jerry Ruttan), the late Marion Morrison and the late Bill Smith (Betty). Elizabeth will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews that she was so close with, the extended Smith and Cubitt families, her many friends and her family pets Freedom and Justice. Elizabeth was a kind and loving person. She enjoyed music and singing whether there was an audience or not. She loved to care for children and the elderly having had careers in long term care as well as early childhood education.
Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Tuesday December 28, 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. for memorial visitation. A private memorial service will be available by live streaming on Wednesday December 29, 2021 at 1 o’clock.
