COWLES, Linda Ann (nee Dupuis)

Cowles

It is with immense sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Linda, at her home with her family by her side, on Monday, August 16, 2021.

Linda was born in Toronto on May 17, 1945, to Florient and Laura (Yetman) Dupuis. She was the 2nd oldest of 6 children.

Living life fully was what Linda enjoyed and she was a strong force from day one. She always had many friends and attracted attention with her beautiful spirit, her helpful nature, and lovely smile. It was during her employment at Woolworth’s that she met the love of her life, Bruce Cowles. He couldn’t resist asking her out on a date to go bowling. The epic romance had begun! Linda and Bruce were married on January 20, 1962.

Linda excelled at everything she wanted to accomplish, specifically sewing, quilting, knitting, dancing, cooking, and being a fabulous host to loved ones and special guests- she was a true entertainer at heart! There were family adventures galore for their family of four! Linda also had an amazing career in real estate for ten years. In the years that followed, she dedicated herself to helping others, and was the most nurturing foster mom she could be to dozens of children in the Peel Children’s Aid Society.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Bruce; her son, Greg (Naseem); her daughter, Allison (Laura); her sisters, Karen, Estelle, Janette, Melanie; her brother, Billy (Melinda); her grandchildren, Jessica (Paul), and Jacquelyn; and many other caring relatives.

Visitation for Linda Cowles will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home in Wasaga Beach. A service will follow the visitation. Please visit www.carruthersdavidson.com to RSVP for the visitation (in a specific time slot) or the service.

Donations in Linda’s name may also be made to the Wasaga Beach Ministerial Food Bank.
