COUKELL, John Gordon

Died peacefully on Sunday January 14, 2024 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood at the age of 84.  Gord of Stayner, beloved husband of Marion (nee Rumble) for over 63 years.  Loving father of Allan (Brenda), Colleen (Paul Priest) and Maureen (Eric Millar). Cherished grandfather of Christopher (Sarah), Scott, Darren, Elayna, Jason, Christopher (Nadia), William (Kristy) and Lisa (Justin) and great grandfather of Alexander, Sam, Gaby, Robert and Emmett.  Dear brother of Donald (Audrey) Coukell and brother-in-law of John (the late Jean) Rumble and Catherine (Rick) Kaufman. Gord will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews, friends and fellow farmers. Gord was a hard working man who cherished his family and his profession.  As a long time dairy farmer, he gave to his community through his involvement with numerous organizations. He was proud to be a Past Chair of the Dairy Farmers of Ontario, an organization which he dedicated much of his life to as a member of the board and of its many committees. He developed many friendships throughout North America through these associations.  Gord also was proud of his vast collection of milk bottles and dairy antiques.  He will be missed.  Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home -Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Wednesday January 17, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and again from 11 a.m. on Thursday January 18^th before the Funeral Service at Centennial United Church, 234 William Street, Stayner at 12 noon.  Reception to follow.  Private graveside service at Stayner Union Cemetery.  If desired, a donation to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation or the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by Gord’s family.  To sign his Book of Memories, please visit www.carruthersdavidson.com
