It's with great sadness that we announce that Doug Blackburn passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side. He was in his 73rd year and was married for 54 years to Sue Blackburn (nee Beauprie). He was the loving father of Kirk (Teresa) and Kim (Greg). Grandpa of Nic, Kendra, Darian and Mitchel. Survived by Murray, Helen (Jim Hughes), Helen Blackburn, Doug Fortune, John (Bev) Beauprie, Mary (Dale) McKean. Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Elvie, brother Gordon, sisters Thelma, Muriel and brother and sister in-Laws John Meesters and Jessie Blackburn. A special thanks to the nurses of St. Elizabeth Society for their care. Arrangements entrusted to Chatterson Funeral Home, Collingwood. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at First Baptist Church, 160 Pine Street, Collingwood on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at 1:00p.m. Please utilize the RSVP registration to schedule your attendance as Public Health regulations restrict the number of people within the church at any one time.
