BURTON, Lenore

August 23, 1937, to October 19, 2023

On October 19, 2023, Lenore Burton died peacefully at the Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood.

A retired business teacher, Lenore was a photographer, and passionate about the arts. She was involved in many groups and committees, particularly the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts and the Juried Photo Show.

Lenore was also a key participant of the art group called Art Array.  This eight member group held shows in Collingwood and Toronto with great success.

She was a founding member of the Georgian Bay Photography Club which recently presented her with an Honorary Lifetime Membership due to her contributions during the past 25 years.  

Lenore lived life to the fullest, always dressed with flair and enjoyed everything art deco. She took many photography trips including to the Amazon River, Mexico, and Norway.

Lenore is survived by sister Anna Sheardown, daughter Cynthia Rochefort & spouse Yvon Rochefort, stepdaughter Andrea Gartley & spouse Avi Chatterjee and their children, and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Lenore is predeceased by spouse Jack Gartley, brother Bill Burton and parents Orville Imrie Burton & Martha Susanna (King) Burton.
