Of Collingwood, formerly of Woodland Beach, Toronto and Montreal. Our strong and fiercely independent mother passed away on Friday October 28, 2022 at Bayhaven Community Care Residence in Collingwood, Ontario. She was 95.

Born and raised in the Snowdon district of Montreal, she and my late father Jim moved to Toronto soon after they were married. They settled in what is now referred to as Davisville Village.

Mom thrived on always being busy. She and our father raised six children. Mom said she was "always happy with a baby on her hip."

After retirement from the job she so loved at Gulf Oil, Mom moved to our family cottage at Woodland Beach on Georgian Bay. She loved the area and was an active member of the Bayshore Seniors club for many years, serving as president for 2 terms.

Always giving and helping, she was a Toronto Police auxiliary officer, volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society, donated blood as many times as possible, and crocheted over 1,000 dish clothes for the Georgian Triangle Humane Society. All monies (over $3,000.00) from the sale of the dish clothes went directly towards the care of the animals at GTHS. She loved cats, and always had at least one. Her last cat, Hudson (Huddy) now lives with our brother Don in Midland.

Although mom suffered from dementia, in the end she was stolen from us by covid-19. We were with her til the end, and even through the fog of dementia and covid, I know she felt comfort from the love that surrounded her.

Left with holes in their hearts are her children Margaret (Paul), Don (Gail), Barb (Dave), and Janet (Frank). She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was greeted in heaven by her late husband Jim and sons Jim Jr (Irene) and Tom (Dlorah).

Cremation has taken place, and she will be laid to rest with our father in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto. To share a memory or to sign her Book of Memories, please visit www.chattersonfuneralhome.com
