It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ivan, November 18, 2022, at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital at the age of 92. A loving and devoted father, and colourful character of Leo Boulevard, he will be missed by friends and neighbours alike. He is survived by his son John Buckovic. A child survivor of WWII, he immigrated to Canada for a better life in 1952. He worked the forests of Northern Ontario, building many foundational roads that became secondary highways. He later moved to London, Ontario in 1959 where he married Maria Gasparic in 1963, and worked the pulp and paper industry till retirement in 1992. He enjoyed carpentry, and nature, often sitting for hours on end watching birds and squirrels in Wasaga Beach, while listening to Johnny Cash. He and his beloved wife Maria shall be reunited next summer for their 60th wedding Anniversary at Wasaga Beach Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. There will be a gathering at the Family home November 26. Special thanks to the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital staff in taking such good care of Ivan during his stay. Donations can be expressed to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital on behalf of the family.
