Died peacefully on Wednesday January 10, 2024 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood surrounded by her family at the age of 79.
Susan of Stayner, beloved wife for over 55 years of Grenville. Loving mother of Matthew (Stacey) and Amy (Peter McIntyre). Cherished grandmother of Jackson, Grace, Audrey and Abby. She will also be missed by her family pets Della, Dooley, Dina, Dizzy and Duke. Susan is predeceased by her sisters Barbara (Crighton) and Patricia (Lewis) and by her parents Percy and Cecile. Susan was an amazing wife and mother. She loved her family and her community.
Susan was an educator, a seamstress, an interior designer, a musician and an equestrian. She loved to ride horses, she had a brilliant ear for music and enjoyed playing the double bass. Her skills as a seamstress enabled her to be the primary wardrobe designer for Clearview Community Theatre for many years. Her interior design skills were utilized with Dougall Decorators, Quanbury’s and by many homeowners in our community. She will be missed.
Friends will be invited to join her family for a come and go celebration on Sunday March 10, 2024 at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner from 1 to 4 p.m. If desired, a donation to The Canadian Cancer Society or to Clearview Community Theatre would be appreciated by Susan's family.
