It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Bowden, of Collingwood, on April 12th at the age of 65, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born in Willowdale, the family moved to Collingwood where he started grade 9 at CCI.  Steve learned to ski at a very young age at Craigleith Ski Club, where lifelong friendships were made over many years.  Those who had the privilege of his work as a general contractor know that his skill and attention to detail was outstanding.  Steve always had a fondness for animals, so it was fitting that he took up photography and became a very talented wildlife photographer.  He had a knack for animals, almost posing for pictures.

Steve was predeceased by his father, Bill.  He will be greatly missed by his mother, Carol, sister, Patti and nephew, Kieffer Brack.

At Steve’s request, cremation has taken place and a family celebration will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in memory of Steve to Hospice Georgian Triangle.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Quigg, his healthcare support team, the team at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, and the staff and volunteers at Hospice Georgian Triangle for their devoted and loving care.
