It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Reginald, surrounded by the love of his family. He passed away on Thursday January 14, 2021 at home after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 78. Reg of Wasaga Beach and formally of Brampton, relocated to Ontario from Newfoundland in 1982, where he resided until his passing. Beloved husband of Rowella (nee Barnes) for over 58 years. Loving father of Rocky (Vicki), Greg (Kathy), Cavelle (the late Brian Perkins) and Johnny (Stacey). Dear grandfather of Craig (Margy), Chantel (Chris), Stephen (Katrina), Stephanie, Chelsea and Tyler. Dear great grandfather of Bentley, Dakota, Brody, Hailey, Benji, Grayson and Beau. Dear brother of Beatrice Francis, Sadie (Kevin) McIsaac and Carrie Bishop. Brother in law to Ina (Sterling), Eunice (Marie), Ruby (Barry), Marilyn (Kenny), Frances, Wade (Bonnie) David (Avril) and step sister-in law Rosie Goosney. Special brother – in law to Frances White. He is predeceased by his parents John Bishop and Margaret (nee Earle) Bishop and step mother Edith Bishop. Predeceased by sister Frannie Elsworth, brothers Elias (Emma) Bishop, Guy Bishop, step sister Lorraine Parsons, step sister in-law Dorcas Goosney. Reg will also be missed by his extended family, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He wore many hats during his career in the trucking industry, fisherman and manufacturing. Reg and Rowella have many memorable trips back to Newfoundland to visit family and friends. Reg loved horses, training and owning a couple Standard Bred horses. His family wish to extend their thanks to Dr. Nay, nurses Pam & Tracy and homemaker Pat for all the care and kindness to keep him comfortable at home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chatterson Funeral Home, Collingwood. If desired, a donation to the Oncology Unit at Royal Victoria Hospital or Birchy Head Pentecostal Church, Newfoundland would be appreciated by Reg’s family.
