Passed away peacefully at Barrie Manor Retirement on Wednesday January 4, 2023 at age 88 years.
Devoted husband of the late Jean Bell (nee Bristow) and his second wife the late Doreen Bell (nee Wright). Howard will be remembered by his wife, Helen Kolkea. Dear father of Debbie Bourque (Mike), Lynda Rideout (Mike), Jim Bell (Dr. Susan Bell), the late Susan Bell (Len) and Helen’s daughter Janice Sola (Mike). Adoring grandfather of Melissa Bell, Caitlyn Bourque, Michelle Rideout-Fraser (Ryan), Nathan Bell and great grandfather of Aiden Bell, Brooklyn Fraser and Kayley Fraser. Howard will also be missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, the Wright and Kolkea families. Predeceased by his parents Leslie and Minnie (nee Curran) Bell, his first wife Jean, daughter Susan, his brothers and sister Norman, Zelma, Murray, Douglas, Lyle and Everett.
Howard grew up in Badjeros, Ontario a rural area of grey county, Southeast of Maxwell. He was a gentle, caring man, who had a deep faith with his church. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking, jump in the car for a road trip, attend to his garden and fishing. Always keeping his lawn and yard immaculate. He will be fondly remembered.
Friends will be received at the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood on Wednesday January 11, 2023 from 11:30a.m. to 1:00p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 1:00p.m. The ceremony will be live streamed for those unable to attend.
