25-Sept-1947 – 1-Apr-2024

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bryan Elliott Barnett, aged 76, of the Town of Blue Mountains ON, on April 1, 2024.

A Toronto born native; Bryan moved to the Town of the Blue Mountains for his love of the ski hills in 1987.  From that day forward, he prided himself as a local, building a beautiful log home alongside his wife. With a love for hockey, windsurfing and cycling, Bryan was most passionate for snowboarding and music, enjoying these hobbies well into retirement. In earlier years, nothing made him happier than sharing these passions with family and friends.  His generosity and helping hand were appreciated by many. All who knew Bryan can head down memory lane, (his favourite ski run at Blue Mountain), literally or figuratively, or attend a live concert, to be reminded of his love of the area. He will live on in our hearts through cherished memories.

Bryan passed away unexpectedly at Hillcrest Village Care Centre in Midland ON. Predeceased by his parents Jean Petticrew (nee Holeckewich - mom), Jack Petticrew (stepfather), Donald Elliott Barnett - (biological father), and brothers Gregory Barnett, Donald Barnett, and Roy Barnett.

Survived by his much-loved brother Bruce Barnett (Carl) and sister Vilia Fera (DJ) and several nieces and nephews.

He will be fondly remembered by his stepchildren, Chris (Deanna) and Lesley Lalonde (Ted), his grandchildren, Madeline Lalonde, Eric Lalonde, Leah, and their grandmother Rosemary Barnett.

A special thank you to all who have helped and supported Bryan along the way, and Hillcrest Village for quality care during his final year.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 11th at Collingwood Central Park Arena
(85 Paterson St, Collingwood, ON, L9Y 3N3, upstairs meeting room) from 1:00pm until 4:00pm (drop-in).  Please join us for Bryan’s memorial ice skate from 2:00pm -3:00pm.
