Barbara was welcomed home while surrounded by the love of her family when she passed away at Campbell House Hospice on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in her 91st year. She was the loving spouse of the late John Bany and beloved mother of John, Karen (Vik), Cathy and Marolyn. She cherished her grandchildren: John (Haley), Diana (Kyle), Nicole (Kevin), Justin and Jordan, and her precious great-granddaughter, Audrey.
Barbara grew up near Shawville, Quebec and maintained a close relationship with her cousin Bruce (Kay). She met John in Ottawa when he was in the airforce and she worked for the government. They eventually settled down on a farm near Dundalk where she ran the farming business while John was away flying. In her sixties, Barb enrolled at Western University and graduated with an Honours BA in psychology. Barbara has been blessed with amazingly supportive neighbours, friends, and parish community.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Paul at St. John the Evangelist Church, 160 Main Street E., Dundalk on Saturday December 17, 2022 at 11a.m. Spring interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
