Winnipeg Blue Bombers tackle Bryant named CFL's top lineman

HAMILTON — Another year, another CFL outstanding lineman award for Stanley Bryant.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers tackle became the first player in club history to earn the award three times.

Bryant was honoured Friday at the CFL's awards banquet.

Voting was conducted by members of the Football Reporters of Canada and nine CFL head coaches.

Bryant anchored a Bombers offensive line that allowed a league-low 16 sacks, while paving the way for a trio of 100-yard rushing performances from Andrew Harris, Brady Oliveira and Johnny Augustine.

The Bombers averaged 5.54 yards per carry and were second in the CFL in rushing (119.7 yards per game) and first in rushing touchdowns (14).

Winnipeg was also first overall in passing efficiency (101.5) and 30-plus yard yard completions (26) while finishing tied with Hamilton for the fewest turnovers made (20).

Bryant becomes the ninth Winnipeg player to win the award,

Bandon Revenberg of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats was the finalist.
