The local 100 Women who Care group continues to raise funds for local charities at regular meetings.

On May 22, the members met and heard from three local charities including Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Georgian Triangle, the Georgian Triangle Humane Society, and My Friend's House. Ultimately the group selected Big Brothers, Big Sisters as the winning charity, and a cheque will be presented next meeting.

At the last meeting, the group decided to donate to the Syrian Refugee Families Support group in Collingwood. They presented the cheque for $16,500 at the May 22 meting.

This is the group's eighth time selecting a charity since Sept. 2017, and they have raised more than $125,000 in support of the charities.

At each meeting, the membership votes on which charity to donate to. And each woman who is part of the group commits $100 to the cause. There are currently 175 members in the group.

The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
