Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale

Freezing rain expected Thursday morning.

Hazard:
Freezing rain. Light ice accretion is possible, particularly for areas over higher terrain.

Timing:
Thursday morning.

Discussion:
Freezing rain will begin early Thursday morning and will transition to rain late Thursday morning as temperatures climb above the freezing mark.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Rain, at times heavy. Total rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm.
Southwesterly winds gusting 60 to 80 km/h.

Thursday morning to Thursday night.

Discussion:
Freezing rain will begin early Thursday morning and will transition to rain late Thursday morning as temperatures climb above the freezing mark. As a result, a freezing rain warning is in effect. Rain will taper to showers by Thursday evening. Strong southwesterly winds are expected Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Isolated utility outages are possible.

Localized flooding may occur in areas of poor drainage.
