The town will be selling off land on Poplar Sideroad after getting an appraisal on two lots.

After an in camera session May 14, council voted to have two lots at the corner of Poplar Side Road and High Street appraised prior to being declared surplus and sold. Council also voted to declare an unopened road allowance on Poplar Sideroad near the same area as surplus and offered for sale to the abutting landowners.

The lots are located on the west side of High Street to the north of the roundabout. There’s an existing farm property at the corner and the two lots are north of that. One lot fronts onto High Street, the other property abuts the first and is landlocked. The properties are across the road from the Grandview Homes – Mountaincroft development.

The road allowance surplus is located about 500 metres to the west of the roundabout and on the North side of Poplar Sideroad.
