TREE TRUST THE BLUE MOUNTAINS

After completing work on a spectacular 200-year-old maple tree at the corner of the 10th Line and the Georgian Trail, Tree Trust TBM now has enough in donated funds to work on our second tree.
At 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 21, 2020, weather permitting, conservation tree care will be completed on another beautiful sugar maple at the Banks Heritage Cemetery, which is located at 596065 4th Line, Town of the Blue Mountains. You are welcome to drop by to check out this beautiful tree and to watch and cheer on our Tree Trust Certified arborists as they complete their conservation care. Please note that Grey Bruce Health Unit Covid-19 protocols regarding masking, physical distancing and gathering limits will be in effect.
The choice of a tree at the Banks Heritage Cemetery is an interesting one, demonstrating Tree Trust’s reach through the whole of TBM and highlighting an interesting historical feature. There are seven heritage cemeteries throughout our municipality. A list of these cemeteries, along with some historical information, is available on the TBM website.
And don’t forget – while out for a fall colours drive or just running errands, please be sure to take note of special trees you think might be in need of conservation care. Tree Trust TBM collects donations from individuals, groups and organizations across our community and uses these funds to hire professional, certified arborists to preserve and extend the lives of large, significant trees.
