Sound Investment Choir tuned up for 50th anniversary concert

The choir will mark the occasion with a special commissioned piece and voices from the past 50 years

The Sound Investment Community Choir presents Pure Gold, a concert celebrating their 50th anniversary and led by music director Danil Biba.

A local community choir is marking its gold anniversary and they'll be singing all about it next week,. 

The Sound Investment Community Choir will present their 50th anniversary concert – Pure Gold – on April 27. 

"At this milestone event, we will premiere a specially commissioned piece," states a news release from the choir. "A poem marking the 50th anniversary of the choir was written by a former choir director, set to music, and then arranged by Music Director Danil Biba." 

The founding music director, Anne Sneyd will be at the special occasion show to give remarks, and the choir will be joined by guest performers from Harmony North and other local musicians. 

The choir will be accompanied by Keiko Yoden-Kuepfer

The choir will perform favorite songs past and present, the audience will be invited to join in a 70’s sing-along and also join the choir after the concert to enjoy refreshments, conversation and anniversary cake.

The show starts at  7:30 p.m. at New Life Church (28 Tracey Lane). There is free parking and the building is wheelchair accessible. 

General admission tickets are $25 for adults, children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. 

Tickets can be purchased from choir members, online via theatrecollingwood.ca, and at the door until sellout.
