Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools and facilities have raised a total of $4,145,342 to date for the Terry Fox Foundation through school runs, walks and fundraising activities. In 2019, our schools, Learning Centres and the Education Centre raised $235,365.

“I am truly inspired and proud of the contributions our students, staff and communities have made to the Terry Fox Run campaign over the years,” says Steve Blake, Director of Education. “Forty years ago, Terry Fox started a quest to eliminate cancer, and I commend all of the effort that our school communities have put into continuing that quest.”

Terry Fox often said that it was the youth who would carry forth his efforts and work towards a world without cancer. Millions of students across Canada have taken part in the Terry Fox School Run every year to raise funds for cancer research, making it one of the largest fundraising events in Canadian history.
