NEWS RELEASE
ROTARY CLUB OF BARRIE-HURONIA
**************************
The Rotary Club of Barrie-Huronia is celebrating Tuesday at 12 p.m., at the Southshore Centre, the results of our very successful fundraiser — the Daily Cash Lottery/Community Calendar for 2024.

This fundraiser began in 1992 as a one-club initiative and has since partnered with other Rotary clubs, numerous charitable and community service groups and has raised over $2.15 million since its inception.

Net monies support local charities, not-for-profit organizations and Rotary International projects around the globe.

This has been a phenomenal year of sales with 5,222 lottery tickets being sold, which resulted in total gross revenues of $104,440.

Success is attributed in part to successful partnerships between Rotary clubs and numerous charitable and community service groups throughout our area.

After deducting the lottery prize pool of $25,000, and direct expenses, the net funds raised from Daily Lottery sales and Community Calendar sponsorship exceeded $80,000. All of this money is earmarked to be put back into our local community.

During these troubling times, we are celebrating a very successful project. The structure is diverse and helps so many of our community members.

We thank our partners, our sponsors and most importantly all of the people who purchase a lottery ticket/calendar each year. The people who purchase a ticket have a chance to win 365 days of the year (total prize pool of $25,000) have a lovely calendar to use through the year and have supported our local community.

The committee is already busy working the 2025 Daily Cash Lottery/Community Calendar which will be available in the fall of 2024.
