Public Health Ontario is reporting eight deaths from COVID-19, and 3,077 new COVID cases today, however, these numbers may be underestimated due to limitations in who can get tested.

Not all hospitals report a daily bed census over the weekend, and due to a technical issue, hospitalization numbers are not available.

Vaccination data was also not released as of the time of publication, but if and when that information becomes available, this story will be updated.

The April 3 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:

  • 1,851 recoveries and eight deaths
  • 14,095 tests were processed yesterday with a 21.8 per cent positivity rate.
  • Another 4,692 tests are still under investigation and/or being processed. To date, over 23 million tests have been completed.

Public Health Ontario has confirmed 1,172,438 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 1,135,365 recoveries and 12,470 deaths, 4,420 of those in long-term care homes.
