Pivot2Peace will be hosting an action at Collingwood's Friendship Garden on Aug. 9, the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.

A Collingwood peace group will be joining several others based in other cities staging actions and/or protests on the anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which took place 78 years ago.

Pivot2Peace members will gather at Collingwood's Friendship Gardens (Minnesota St. on north side of OPP station) on Aug. 9 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to convey one simple message: never again.

There are similar events across Canada being staged by anti-war and anti-violence groups. Anyone is welcome to join.

Collingwood's Friendship Gardens were built to mark the twin city relationship that the town has with Katano, Japan. The twin designation has been in place since 1981.
