Public Health Ontario is reporting 1,453 new COVID cases today.
The latest updates also include 910 recoveries and 11 deaths.
The Dec. 10 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:
- There are 9,191 active cases, up from 8,661 yesterday.
- Of the new cases, 613 are unvaccinated, 26 are partially vaccinated and 718 are fully vaccinated. The vaccination status of 96 people is unknown.
- 309 people are in hospital testing positive for COVID-19, which is the same as yesterday.
- 151 people are in ICU due to COVID-19, down four from yesterday. Of those, 130 people are testing positive and 21 are testing negative. There are 90 people in an intensive care unit (ICU) due to COVID on a ventilator, down four from yesterday.
- For cases in the hospital but not ICU, 23 people are unvaccinated, four are partially vaccinated and 11 are fully vaccinated. In ICU, there are 22 people unvaccinated, three partially vaccinated and zero fully vaccinated.
- 11.3 million people in Ontario (77 per cent of the population) are fully vaccinated, 609,037 people (four per cent of the population) are partially vaccinated.
- 965,209 people have received a booster since August 2021.
- The seven-day average incidence rate by vaccination status is 15.09 cases per 100,000 unvaccinated people, 6.9 cases per 100,000 partially vaccinated people, and 3.91 cases per 100,000 fully vaccinated people.
- The province reported 39,941 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 4.4 per cent positivity rate.
- Today's new cases include 62 newborns to four year olds, 293 kids ages five to 11, 152 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 455 people between 20 and 39 years old, 338 people between 40 and 59 years old, 138 people between 60 and 79 years old, and 18 people over 80 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 629,064 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 609,806 recoveries and 10,065 deaths.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 4,269.5 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average seven-day incidence rate from Nov. 30 to Dec. 6 was 47.4. cases per 100,000 people, which is up by 19.4 per cent compared to the seven-day period starting of Nov. 24.

Simcoe-Muskoka
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reported 63 new COVID cases in its report Thursday, Dec. 9.
There are currently 710 active cases in the region.
Thirty-one people from Simcoe County and one person from Muskoka District are hospitalized with COVID-19.
Since the start of the pandemic, the local health unit has confirmed 16,409 cases of COVID-19 with 15,419 of those cases recovered and 280 cases ending in death.
