ONTARIO: In-person road tests cancelled during provincial lockdown

Tests cancelled until Jan. 9 in Northern Ontario, and Jan 23 in Southern Ontario

The province announced today that all in-person road tests will be cancelled due to the recently mandated province-wide COVID-19 lockdown which begins at 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 26.

In Northern Ontario, test are cancelled until Jan. 9, a news release issued by the Province of Ontario states. Southern Ontario tests are cancelled until Jan. 23.

"We know that these measures may be a serious inconvenience for people waiting for a road test," said Caroline Mulroney, minister of transportation, in the release. "However, these are unprecedented times and our number one priority remains protecting the health and safety of individuals, families and workers."

Any DriveTest client with a previously scheduled road test will receive a credit with the option to rebook once the lockdown period ends.

In order to ensure the delivery of goods and services, the Ministry of Transportation will continue to offer commercial vehicle services, including commercial road tests, throughout the lockdown period.
