One of two outbreaks declared on Aug. 10 at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital is now over.

In a news release, the hospital confirmed today it has worked with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to declare the outbreak in the hospital's surgical unit over.

The surgical unit has now reopened for visitors, based on phase three of the hospital's visitor's policy.

The medical unit is still in active COVID-19 outbreak status and no visitors are permitted for patients in that unit at this time.

"CGMH is tremendously appreciative of all employees and credentialed staff for their dedication and efforts over the summer months, as they continue to provide outstanding care to CGMH patients and the South Georgian Bay community," states the news release.
