The Collingwood Fire Department must have endeered itself to a rescuee today - enough for the antlers in distress to need rescuing a second time.

A deer wandered out onto the ice at Sunset Point and fell into the water today (Jan. 13).

Collingwood firefighters and OPP arrived on scene to pull the deer from the chilly waters.

According to Fire Chief Ross Parr, a crowd grew nearby and the deer got spooked and ran back into the water a second time.

The Collingwood Fire Department returned to Sunset Point to pull the deer from the water again. Parr said the deer was resting when they left it last.
