The latest addition to the new Markdale hospital is outpatient endoscopy procedures, announced Brightshores Health System.

Starting last week, the hospital began offering the outpatient service.

"General surgeons at Brightshores Markdale will lead the outpatient endoscopy program, providing expert care in a convenient and modern setting," states a news release from Brightshores. "The procedures will take place on Mondays each week, with plans for expansion as the program grows to meet the evolving needs of the community."

Patients requiring endoscopy procedures can schedule appointments through their general surgeon's office. This streamlined process ensures that individuals receive timely and personalized care tailored to their specific needs.

"We are excited to introduce outpatient endoscopy services at Markdale Hospital,” said Jennifer Ouellette, site manager in the news release. “This is a development that aligns with our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive, accessible, and high-quality healthcare services to the community. We are dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of our patients while leveraging the excellent facilities and space available in the hospital.”

The outpatient endoscopy program will feature a three-bay recovery room, ensuring that patients receive attentive post-procedural care in a comfortable and supportive environment.
