The Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Mollot as director of education and secretary-treasurer.

“It is with great enthusiasm that the trustees express their confidence in Ms. Mollot to take on the important task of leading the Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir. During the rigorous recruitment process, Ms. Mollot clearly stood out for her proven experience in pedagogy, her leadership skills and her deep knowledge of the realities and needs of our school community," said Geneviève Grenier, chair of the board.

Ms. Mollot has over 25 years of experience in the education sector and with the Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir, including over 15 years in leadership positions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s of Education in Teaching and Learning.

She has served as superintendent of education since 2016 and, over the years, has assumed responsibility for many key portfolios, including curriculum services, early childhood education, identity building, new teacher training, professional development for principals and vice-principals, opening new schools, including l’École catholique MonAvenir virtuel (MAVI), and the shift to learning in the digital age including the transformation of the XXIst century spaces in all the board’s schools.

Throughout her career, Mollot has dealt with multiple stakeholders in the educational sector, both at the provincial and federal levels, in the development and implementation of numerous initiatives to ensure the best academic performance of students.

Mollot herself completed her elementary and secondary education in the board’s French-language Catholic schools. She graduated from Grade 12 at École secondaire catholique Monseigneur-de-Charbonnel in Toronto.

"I am deeply honoured to be appointed as director of education. Our school board is in high demand and acts as an anchor for the entire francophone community in South Central Ontario. Over the years, I have seen this community grow and change. I am committed to continuing the tradition of excellence in our schools and to ensure the success of every student. Together with the team, we will continue to cultivate welcoming, caring and respectful environments for all members of the community and make our board a destination of choice for students and employees," said Nicole Mollot.

Mollot will take over from André Blais, who announced in January that he would be retiring at the end of this school year. To prepare for the transition, she will act as an associate director as of Monday, May 1, and then assume her duties as director of education upon Blais' departure on Tuesday, July. "I would like to congratulate Nicole Mollot on her appointment. I look forward to working closely with her as we move forward. I would like to take this opportunity to emphasize that she will be able to count on the support of a wonderful senior management team, who work in a spirit of collaboration and appreciation of the skills that each member brings to the table," said André Blais.
