Meaford Hall music series focuses on compelling stories

Rogers, Richie and Robinson, three singers, will be the final show of the More Than The Music Series at Meaford Hall beginning Jan. 18.

Meaford Hall and Cultural Centre has lined up a series of performances that center around compelling stories and great tunes. 

The More Than The Music Series starts on Jan. 18 and extends into April with performances by talented artists with great stories to tell. There will be five performances with discounts for purchasing tickets to multiple shows in the series. 

In a press release, Meaford Hall provided the following descriptions of the five shows in the series:

Kicking it off on January 18 is Carl Dixon, founding member of the band Coney Hatch and former front man of  April Wine and the Guess Who. Carl’s story is like no other. Surviving a life altering car crash at the peak of his career, Carl’s resilience and powerful message combined with his incredible music, is one not to be missed.

In celebration of Black History Month, award-winning musician, composer and producer, Lance Anderson brings his show, Oscar Peterson: The Jazz Legend and the Man I Knew to the stage on February 8. Lance shares his musical talents and his stories of his time working with one of the world’s finest jazz legends.

Becoming the Beatles is not a tribute show but a musical documentary about four boys who became the world’s most recognized band. Join touring musician and music historian, Hailey Marie on February 22 for this unforgettable show.

Sue Foley is one of North America’s most sought-after blues performers. On March 7, in celebration of International Women’s Day, Sue will celebrate the music and stories of a variety of female pioneers of the guitar.

Rounding out the series on April 18 with more songs and stories is Rogers, Richie & Robinson. Three world-class singers, Luke McMaster, Kevin Pauls and Joel Parisen share their incredible talents and compelling stories of their connections to the musical legends, Kenny  Rogers, Lionel Richie and Smokey Robinson. 

Each of these shows can be purchased separately or you can buy them as a series. Buy tickets for three shows and receive $5 off per show. Buy all 5 performances for $150 and save $10 per show.
