Minesing – Turn off those electronics and get your kids engaged in history and education by joining us for our Pioneer Kids Club. The program runs three Saturday mornings in April (excluding the Easter long weekend) and introduces children to the life of a pioneer with games, food and crafts.

From clothing to tasty recipes, programming will allow participants to experience what life was like for a pioneer child. Using the same recipes that the early settlers used, including cooking in our outdoor bread oven, our pioneer kids will make and enjoy their own authentic snacks including scones, bread and freshly made butter. Receive a school lesson from 1837 in our historic one-room schoolhouse and try your hand at pioneer crafts.

Pioneer Kids Club is suitable for children ages 6 to 12, and costs $48 per child for the three-week program. Registration is required and can be completed online at museum.simcoe.ca. Space is limited, so interested parties are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment.

The Simcoe County Museum is located at 1151 Highway 26, just minutes north of Barrie.
