Collingwood Curling Club is looking to fill the house this season now that registration has opened.

Curling commences Oct. 10 at the Hume Street facility, and the club president, Mark McLaren, would like you to know the sport rocks.

“In addition to great physical benefits, many of the members return year over year for social activity and friendships,” said McLaren in a news release from the club. “We’ve all watched curling on TV and have familiarity with curling, but what is more important is that people experience it as much as a social
club as they do a sporting club. It’s also one of the most affordable sports with a number of membership options available and a full membership at only $395 for the entire season.”

The local club has a membership base of about 550 curlers who sign up for league play, jitney (drop-in) and learn-to-curl programs. There's also a free junior program for youth aged 8 to 18 years old on Sunday mornings.

Registration information is available online at Collingwoodcurlingclub.ca.
