NEWS RELEASE
DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL DEFENCE
*************************
On Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, Canadian Army Reserve personnel from 31 Canadian Brigade Group will be moving on foot in groups of 100 to 125, totalling 500 to 600 troops, as part of a training exercise outside the Meaford training area.

In order to avoid injury or other issues, members of the public are asked to use caution if in the vicinity of these personnel.

All activities will occur Thursday. Members of the public may see military members moving along the following roads: Sideroad 27, St. Vincent-Sydenham Townline, Sideroad 30, Concession Road 2, and Sydenham Lakeshore Drive. Members will be carrying weapons and have blank ammunition on their person, but they will not be loaded or have live ammunition.

31 Canadian Brigade Group is headquartered in London, Ont., and has over 1,800 members across southwestern Ontario. Most of these soldiers are army reservists, and many of them are preparing to deploy overseas on international stability operations with Canadian partners and allies in various regions.

All measures are being taken to ensure minimum inconvenience to those in the area during the movement date. Members of the public are asked to take extra caution when approaching military members and reduce speed when passing troops. We thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation.
