In pay-it-forward fashion, last week's clothing retail showcase events helped support the local hospice.

Hospice Georgian Triangle received $21,000 from the proceeds of Collingwood Fashion Week, which ran Sept. 18-22 at various venues throughout the downtown.

The event was organized by the Downtown Collingwood Business Improvement Area (BIA) and culminated in a gala and fashion show at the John Saunders Centre on Friday night.

The annual event included runway shows, pop-up events and fashion-related activities that shone a spotlight on local designers and retailers. You can see photos from the gala event online here.

"We are thrilled with the overwhelming success of Collingwood Fashion Week and want to thank everyone involved for the incredible support," said Sandra Sullivan, the executive director of Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation, in a news release. "We are honoured to be the charity of choice for this amazing event that not only celebrates fashion and style but also giving back.”

Hospice Georgian Triangle provides compassionate care at Campbell House and in the community for individuals with life-limiting illness and their families in the Town of the Blue Mountains, Collingwood, Clearview Township and Wasaga Beach. Care programs come at no cost to the user and focus on the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of the patient, family and caregivers, enhancing quality of life.
