Hospice gets bonus $116K announcement during hike/bike event

MPP Brian Saunderson announced Ontario Trillium Foundation funding to the tune of $116,900 for Hospice Georgian Triangle during the hike and bike event on the weekend.

This weekend's annual fundraiser for Hospice Georgian Triangle got an extra boost with a funding announcement from the province. 

During the Hike and Bike event on Sunday, Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson announced Georgian Triangle Hospice would be receiving $116,900 through the Ontario Trillium Foundation Community Resilience Fund. 

The money is for human resources support in the wake of COVID-19. 

Saunderson said the announcement is good news for patients and family in the community. 

Hospice Georgian Triangle's executive director, Trish Rawn, said the grant will have an impact on the whole community. 

“This grant will allow us to provide exceptional human resource support and training to staff and volunteers caring for patients and their families," she said in a news release. 

Hospice Georgian Triangle, started in 1987 and has evolved to provide compassionate care in the home and at Campbell House for individuals and families dealing with life-limiting illness, living in the communities of The Town of Blue Mountains, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach and Clearview Township. Care programs come at no cost to the users and focus on the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of both the patient and family, enhancing quality of life.
