THEATRE GEORGIAN BAY

For the past five seasons, Theatre Georgian Bay (TGB) has presented an annual Bard on the Bay production at the Shipyards Amphitheatre in Collingwood, bringing accessible adaptations of Shakespeare to Simcoe County.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, TGB has postponed this summer's Bard on the Bay production with plans to produce it in July 2021. However, the professional theatre company does not want to leave their audience without any summer Shakespeare and thereby are excited to present: Stay At Homeo & Juliet.

Theatre Georgian Bay is bringing a unique bard experience to its audience in order to raise funds for the company’s on-going operational, and future production, costs.

Stay at Homeo and Juliet: A Bard on the Zoom Production premieres at 7 p.m. on July 16, 2020 and will consist of a virtual performance from Romeo & Juliet, as well as an online silent auction.

The audience can expect to be entertained by all members of the TGB Collective and some special guests from past productions, as well as some new faces to the company.

The online auction will feature gift certificates and other items kindly donated from local companies and restaurants.

“We at TGB love to support and promote our community’s locally-owned small businesses” says Stay At Homeo co-director Heather Denni., “And especially in these unprecedented times we believe it is important to help keep each other’s businesses running.”

To watch Stay At Homeo & Juliet, tune in to TGB’s YouTube channel at 7 p.m. on July 16. To bid on items in the silent auction, head to their Facebook page on the same date. Both the auction and performance will be broadcast online until 7 p.m. on July 19. To make a donation to Theatre Georgian Bay, email [email protected].
