Are you looking for a way to celebrate Canada this weekend?

Here are five Canada-Day themed celebrations to attend this weekend in and around Collingwood.

1. Collingwood Festival for Canada

Collingwood will be celebrating Canada this weekend on Saturday through a pancake breakfast, live entertainment downtown and the traditional citizenship reaffirmation ceremony and giant cake outside of the federal building.

2. Meaford’s Canadian Comfort Food Series

Local restaurants will be showcasing iconic dishes from all corners of Canada in downtown Meaford, including lobster rolls from Nova Scotia, butter tarts from Ontario, Montreal smoked meat from Quebec and Nanaimo bars from British Columbia.

3. Blue Mountain Village’s Canada Day Weekend

Canada Day events at Blue Mountain Village include a village-wide scavenger hunt, live music all weekend and a fireworks show on Saturday night. Roaming entertainment will be running throughout the Village on July 2.

4. Wasaga Beach’s Canada Day Celebration

A full day of activities is slated to kick off July 1 at Beach Area 1, including Indigenous storytelling, street performers, craft village, local dance groups and tethered hot air balloon rides. Musical acts are booked to perform throughout the day on the main stage, with headliner Bedouin Soundclash performing at 8:45 p.m. and a fireworks show to cap the evening.

5. Clearview’s Canada Day Parade

Decorated floats and community partners will march along Highway 26 in Stayner, starting at 10:30 a.m. The parade starts at Stayner Arena and will end at Station Park.
