Next weekend a local vineyard welcomes music-lovers and foodies for a party amidst the grapes.
Georgian Hills Vineyards is brining back Vinestock for its second year, featuring live outdoor music by local musicians and up-and-coming talent.
Vinestock was created as a way to support school music programs. This year, all proceeds from the event will go to the South Georgian Bay Music Foundation, which operates under the mandate of advancing music education in the region.
“The best quality of this event is the money goes back into the community,” said Amanda Jerome, one of the organizers of the event. “And the fact that it showcases up-and-coming musicians.”
This year’s lineup includes some local high school students who will benefit from the funds raised at Vinestock.
The festival runs Sunday, Aug 12 from noon to 5 p.m. at Georgian Hills Vineyards (496350 Grey Road 2). It’s $25 for admission and there are a la carte food stations and a cash bar featuring local wine, beer and cider. Children 13 and under get in free.
Tickets are available online here.
