NEWS RELEASE
SOUTHERN GEORGIAN BAY COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE
*************************
WASAGA BEACH - From Oct. 21 to 27, the South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre (SGBCHC) is celebrating Community Health and Wellbeing Week by inviting the community to take part in a variety of free programs. The goal of this initiative is to help raise awareness about the local programs, services and engagement initiatives that build stronger, more resilient and healthier communities across Ontario. This year’s theme is Connected Teams, Connected People, Connected Communities.

“During this week, we invite you to join us as we shine the spotlight on people forging strong community connections at the South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre – including volunteers, community members and staff – who strive every day to build a healthier, more connected community,” says Heather Klein Gebbinck, Executive Director, SGBCHC. “When people, teams and communities like ours are better connected, the rewards are greater for everyone: fewer people get sick, more people engage with their own wellbeing, and we can reduce the pressure on our healthcare system.”

The SGBCHC focuses on local needs and barriers such as social isolation, loneliness, poverty, and food insecurity to increase people’s capacity to stay healthy, and promote trust between the community and health providers. During Community Health and Wellbeing week, the SGBCHC invites members of the community to connect with others by taking part in the following free programs:
