This Saturday morning will be your last chance this season to catch the outdoor Collingwood Farmers’ Market in the Pine Street parking lot.

There will be one more market this Thanksgiving weekend to close out the season.

This weekend is also the art chair auction, which means market customers will be able to place a bid on one of several art chairs that have been out in Collingwood’s downtown this summer.

“We look forward to a busy market with people picking up their Thanksgiving supplies,” said Bradley Green, Collingwood Downtown BIA board member.

The BIA organizes the farmers’ market, which began in 2004.

Sue Nicholson, BIA general manager, said this season has been good to vendors.

“Reports from our vendors throughout the season are that they have experienced the best crowds ever and increased sales this year,” said Nicholson.

Last year during the market season, a portion of the Pine Street lot was blocked off due to construction of the transit terminal at the corner of Pine and Second street.

“We have been able to accommodate more vendors this year due to the transit terminal being completed … and have been able to increase our primary producers, the lifeblood of a farmers’ market, by more than 10 per cent,” said Nicholson.

There are about 70 vendor stalls at the Collingwood Farmers’ Market, which has run every Saturday, except during the Collingwood Elvis Festival, since May 18.

The market also includes special events, live music, and activities for children.

The Collingwood Farmers’ Market runs Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Pine Street municipal parking lot between Second and Third Street.
