This Thanksgiving weekend some people's turkey dinners will be preceded by a run through apple country.
The annual Turkey Trot returns Saturday, Oct. 7, hosted by the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club. The event includes a kids' 1-kilometre fun run plus a 5-km, 10-km and half marathon run.
The races start at the Beaver Valley Community Centre at 9 a.m. for the kids' run and at 9:30 a.m. for the rest. Race kit pick up is Oct. 6 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Oct. 7 from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the community centre.
Registration includes a toque, chip timing, medal, random prizes and fun. Turkey costumes are encouraged.
