Agnora held their annual Pre-Loved Fashion Sale for Good on Saturday, April 29 and raised $12,072 for the Collingwood Hospital Foundation.

This year’s event had the best turnout in its three-year history. Pre-loved clothing, shoes and accessories in a variety of styles and sizes filled the Agnora cafeteria. Excited shoppers lined up at the doors with anticipation while waiting for the doors to open at 9 a.m.

“We are beyond thrilled to have surpassed our goal of raising $10,000 for this event,” says Sherri Remnant, Agnora event organizer. “This is an event that not only helps our community by supporting our hospital; it also diverts clothing from landfill, and also goes on to provide clothing for those in need.”

When the call for donations came, the community answered. Bags upon bags of excellent quality clothing were brought to the Agnora office. The event organizers were thrilled to see items from name brands like Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Kate Spade and more. Many of the items were brand new with tags still on. On top of that, the event also helped keep clothing out of landfills by giving the items a new home. After the sale, any unsold items are split up between other great causes. Some are going to women at My Friend’s House and youth at the Barbara Weider House, some to a local clothing swap, and some will be kept for next year’s sale.

“We are so grateful for Agnora and everyone involved in the Pre-Loved Fashion for Good sale,” says Jory Pritchard-Kerr, foundation president and CEO. “The success of this event is a direct result of the team’s extraordinary effort and passion to help this community thrive.“

The funds raised at this year’s event are being put towards the Collingwood Hospital Foundation’s MRI campaign. Currently, patients have to drive an hour each way, sometimes in the middle of the night, to receive an MRI after waiting weeks, or even months, for an appointment. Having an MRI in Collingwood will bring this essential piece of diagnostic equipment closer to home.

The Collingwood Hospital Foundation and the staff of Agnora would like to thank everyone who participated and supported this event including their hard-working volunteers, Happenings Party Rentals and Bishop Consignment.
