This year the Starbucks at the Metro grocery store in Collingwood put up a special kind of Christmas Tree.

The tree was adorned with a star that bore the message: "pouring happiness and warmth one child at a time."

Evergreen branches were loaded with toys, hats, and mittens - all donated by staff and customers. The gifts were donated to Collingwood Salvation Army to be given to families in need this Christmas.

Starbucks store manager Donna Guerron said the store does something different each year to gather donations - last year was a Santa Box.
