Little Brother Arol and Big Brother Dana took part in Bowl for Kids’ Sake on April 15 in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grey Bruce.

The community spared its time and money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grey Bruce at this year’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake.

The 43rd annual fundraiser brought in almost $37,000 — exceeding the $35,000 goal — as 37 teams took part at The Bowling Alley in Owen Sound, Sunset Family Fun Centre in Port Elgin, and Georgian Bowl in Collingwood on April 15.

The Rogers Rollers team collected the most pledges, raising more than $4,300. Vicky-Lynn Hicks raised the most money as an individual, bringing in more than $3,100. Other top fundraisers included Owen Sound’s Mark Perry and Jim Reid, both of whom raised more than $2,400, and Collingwood’s Kevin Woolham, who collected $1,300 in pledges.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward the organization’s in-school mentoring programs and community-based programs provided to families in Grey County, Bruce County and western Simcoe County.

“We are so grateful for the commitment and belief our supporters have in investing in the lives of young people in our community. Thank you for your kindness, generosity and continuous support,” the agency stated in a news release.
