In an effort to support organizations in the community that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, EPCOR recently donated $4,000 to the Out Of The Cold organization in Collingwood. The funds will be used to help pay for a feasibility study looking at the need for a permanent shelter in the Collingwood region as well as other options and solutions for addressing issues surrounding homelessness.

In reaching out to the organization, EPCOR told the programs task force volunteers that it was their own local employees who nominated Out of The Cold after reading an article about the study. They suggested it aligned with EPCOR’s focus of helping to end poverty.

“Many organizations in our community have been hit hard by the pandemic, including those organizations whose purpose is to help others,” said Susannah Robinson, EPCOR Vice President, Ontario Operations. “EPCOR is pleased to support the feasibility study so that Out of the Cold can continue helping the people in our community who need it most.”

The feasibility study is being conducted by OrgCode Consulting with a report expected in March, 2021.
