The author of a series of Ontario hiking guides is coming back to Collingwood this Earth Day to share her love for the outdoors and her explorations of local trails.

Nicola Ross is the author of the Loops and Lattes hiking guide series, which includes the 2020 guide to Collingwood, the Blue Mountains, and Beaver Valley Hikes.

The local guide is the sixth written by Ross, who lives in Caledon. The guides include her own maps of loops she’s pieced together from local trails with information like the length of the trail, the difficulty, how long it will take to hike and what sorts of things one would see along the way. All hikes are beta tested by Ross' friends and acquaintances. The Collingwood area guide includes 35 loop routes.

Ross will be at Coriander Life on April 22 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. to sign books and talk about being an environmentalist through her hiking guide series.
